Artist Series: Salt + Light Keys
This series is comprised of small watercolor and ink sketches done on location in the beautiful islands of the Florida keys. They have been inspired by the turquoise waters of the Atlantic ocean and various bays along the way. I have spent 20+ years being touched and inspired by the salty waters and radiant light on the coastlines along US1.
I always travel with a simple pallet of Daniel Smith watercolors, micron ink pens, a Derwent sketching pencil, water brushes and a 5 x 7 or 7 x 10 block of Arches 140lb cold press.
For me, painting is therapy. When outdoors, plein air adds to the enjoyment and adventure.
