Wordless, but not voiceless, the East End beckons us to come closer, to seek, witness, and explore. Like magnetism as a force of nature, we are drawn to the quintessential shores, farmland, and hamlets of the east end. Through a mixed media process, my work embraces all that is available, allowing the observer to experience the energy of the moment, the warmth of the sun, the fragrance of a vineyard, the sand beneath one’s feet while transcending the physical plane, exploring Meta realism, opening a multi-dimensional perception of the world.
It all began on the shoreline of the north folk. The inspiration of water splashing onto the sand, bringing with it life forms come and gone, shells, crabs, coral, seaweed. A moment intercepted by the digital world, a few dozen inspirational photos and at last a digital oil painting. A conundrum, how does one share such digital artwork? Hence the birth of "Sand and Sea", a harmonic mixed media composition assemblage. Printed on canvas, stretched on a frame, covered with acrylic mediums, brush strokes and a few highlights of acrylic paint. Pause, explore. . .add an acrylic pour. . . a quest for more . . . yes, actual sand and seaweed, coral, shells, beach glass, feel free to explore, there is more. The sun you see, where would we be without thee? Sunsets glistening in the air, across the sea and on the shore. Yes, let’s create one more. “Sand and Sunsets”, another digital oil, 30” x 40” stretched canvas, with sand and acrylic mediums.  Did you know the sun was a key player in Vignettes, Vines, and Vineyards? This triptych is a solar plate etching, an artistic process I am grateful to have explored and studied with Long Island’s Master Artist, Dan Welden. A neural network of energy inspired by nature, humanity, and our universe; an artist’s life is a complex web we weave.
