What an exciting event featuring Hampton Artists: Dan Welden, Eric Fischl, Kiki Smith, Alice Aycock, Roy Nicholson, Helen Harrison & Justin Greenwald along with 100 other artists from near and far. All brought together for a cause. Three days of painting, energy and excitement all culminated in the Printaganza Benefit Gala on August 4th in Studio 3 at LTV East Hampton. See more on their webpage. https://www.ltveh.org/printaganza I am humbled to have worked along side some of these great artists and have a piece of my artwork, a hybrid Monotype "Kundalini Rising" selected for the fundraising benefit. Congratulations to the auction winner. May this piece spread great inspiration to all who view it. Below is an image of a few of my other works as seen hanging to dry at the event. I had so much fun and am grateful to be a part of this amazing event.

That sky, those flowers, and this company of artists. . . wow, what a great weekend of fun, folly, oh yeah, and painting. Weekend culminated in the Mansion with an outstanding art show. Available paintings will be hung in the gift shop through labor day, so if you are visiting OWG stop in and see how the right brain sees things!
This was an unbelievably inspiring weekend of artists and inspiration. Music, food, ponds, barns, trucks, fields, flowers, trails, huge rock, yes even a laundry line . . . You name it, it was being painted . . . Artists, artists, everywhere. Soon you will be able to see the outpouring of paint exhibited at the Reboli Center in Stonybrook. The reception will take place on June 25th, 6pm - 8pm. The show will be on exhibit through July 7th.
Inspiration abounds at Planting Fields. Especially the weekend of the Orchid Festival. Along with all the stunning gardens on the grounds, visitors can find beautiful color in pots and pigment to take home with them. I was excited to share two days of inspiration with many art colleagues display a few watercolor creations, create a painting or two and bring home two beautiful potted orchids of my own. I look forward to more paintings from all the fabulous photos I was able to capture too.

Exciting News - My submission has been selected on the Artorful Art Competition!
Artorful is pleased to announce that the posted arts have been selected as Top 10 winners in the 'Art in 10 Minutes' art competition out of hundreds of submissions from all over the world! Congratulations to all Top 10 winners! East End Arts Gallery Show 'Horizons' 30" x 40" Stretched Canvas Mixed Media See it in person - showing now Infinite Illusion is a digital oil mixed media painting created in Adobe Fresco and printed on stretched canvas. To build texture and depth I then added an overlay of acrylic paints and mediums as well as sand and rocks from Reeves Beach on the North Folk.
In “Horizon: An Infinite Illusion”, the setting sun hovers above the horizon line, lighting up the cloud formations and creating parallel reflections of light across the water. Within minutes the sun seems to disappear, leaving behind a trail of points, tracing the sun’s perpendicular path to the horizon line, the line at which the earth’s surface and the sky appear to meet. Mathematicians and scientists alike would consider this nothing but an illusion. The sun does not disappear, yet one will lose sight of the sun as the earth rotates away from it’s view. The horizon line is an illusion as well, an illusion of infinity as the curvature of the earth appears flat, creating the illusion of a straight line. In mathematics, a circle is defined as a type of line composed of an infinite number of points equidistant from a given point. The earth, a sphere, has a circumference of infinite points. If we zoom in an infinite number of times, the space between two points will appear as a line, in this case the horizon line of the setting sun . . . An Infinite Illusion. |
